DEAR SELF

Dear self,

I know you’re here, and please, do not ignore me, ’cause I’m trying to make you think.

We have succumbed to fear, but we can’t keep on hiding from mistakes and thoughts that always chase us down.

Do you see it now?

Every time we let the darkness in, there’s also light.

You can’t walk away from the pain and tears that somehow heal the wounds inside.

I know I overlooked the signs and helped the monster grow.

I can’t believe I stare as my heart rots.

And I’m the one to blame.

I’ve chosen ignorance instead of facing my own hell.

And I see it now.

Every time we let the darkness in, there’s also light.

I won’t walk away from the pain and tears that somehow heal the wounds inside.

And if we get aligned,

we’ll find there’s more to this than meets the eye.
